Jessica Rose
Heating Engineer
Harrogate
Jessica Rose spent six years as a paralegal before swapping her desk job for a career in heating engineering. After helping out a plumber friend on weekends, she took up an evening course in plumbing before starting a gas apprenticeship. More recently, she’s moved into the world of renewables.
“I wanted to be in the renewables heating industry because it is one that is constantly evolving. It’s the way that the heading industry is going, I believe!”
Her day-to-day work involves air source servicing and breakdown and repair for heat pumps and solar, helping to ensure that these renewables continue running efficiently, which is vital given the number of people using renewables is on the rise.
“As more people educate themselves about how renewables work and what it does for your planet and your wallet, more and more people are moving into it, which is great!”
An ever-evolving role, one of the core aspects that keep Jessica interested in the work is that no two days are the same. She also hopes to inspire more women to move into this growing, future-focused sector.
